2020 has been an incredibly challenging year for all of us. Following government advice, the Cardonet team has been working from home since March. Thanks to our cloud-based tools, we have been able to continue working effectively and assisting our customers whilst working remotely. However, being physically out of the office has been difficult; not being able to see and interact with our wonderful colleagues every day has been tough for all.
To keep spirits high and ensure that the team was able to get together, albeit virtually, Cardonet has hosted team events throughout lockdown, including quiz nights, a virtual escape room and a comedy night.
Our Halloween party this year took place over Zoom on the 29th October. Deliveroo vouchers were supplied so people could eat dinner together, but the main event of the night was the virtual escape room. Everyone was split up into teams and together, they had to solve clues and puzzles, as you would in a traditional escape room. Congratulations to our winning team!
Our Christmas party this year took place via Zoom on the 10th December. Unfortunately, because Deliveroo don’t use Cardonet as their IT support, the app was down and so alternative dinner arrangements had to be made! We heard a few words from the management team about how everyone’s efforts have paid off this year, in spite of everything. It was a great chance for our incredibly hard-working team to take a moment and reflect on what has been a positive year for us as a business. We were fortunate to take on a number of exciting new customers and employees and continue providing top level IT support. After a few short speeches, our comedians took over for the comedy night! The 3 comedians gave a top performance and left everyone in stitches. The evening was a huge success and thoroughly enjoyed by all.
